Atlantic Lumber Board Inc. ("ALB") is a Canadian not-for-profit corporation (#1016652-9) charged with administering a Certificate of Origin program that applies to softwood lumber products first produced in the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island solely from logs harvested in one of these three provinces.
ALB’s membership includes primary softwood lumber sawmills with manufacturing operations in the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island as well as wholesalers of softwood lumber products produced in these three provinces. In addition, one representative from each of the Governments of Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island are members.
ALB’s current board of directors consists of:
- Richard Freeman of Harry Freeman & Son
- Jerome Pelletier of JD Irving
- Doug Ledwidge of Ledwidge Lumber
- Mark Baillie of Scotsburn Lumber
- Mark Wilber of Elmsdale Lumber.
ALB has arranged for all administrative functions for managing ALB to reside within Forest Nova Scotia and to be administered by a General Manager - Jeff Bishop, who is also Executive Director of Forest Nova Scotia.
